The Hollies
New Enclosure was appointed to produce landscape proposals to accompany a planning application for a residential development of nine detached homes in rural Hampshire.
Working within a rural setting required an attentive approach to ensure the prevailing rural character of the area was an integral part of the design and was reflected in the aesthetic of the development.
In close consultation with the project arboriculturalist, New Enclosure worked to retain the existing tree and hedgerows on site and proposed an extensive programme of new tree and hedgerow planting as well as areas of wildflower meadow and a scheme of perennial and shrub planting in and around the dwellings. This was supported by a soft landscape schedule and specification so that the landscape could be implemented and maintained in line with industry best practice. Further to the creation of spaces for residents and nature alike, New Enclosure also considered the sustainable management of water run off on site through the specification of permeable hard landscape materials and construction methods.
New Enclosure is engaged with the client and the design team as the application progresses.
