Elmfield House

New Enclosure was appointed to produce landscape proposals to accompany a planning application seeking to build 15 homes and the convert an existing building into a number of apartments on the edge of Salisbury.

Working within a sensitive ecological setting required close collaboration with the project ecologist in order to present a scheme that adhered to biodiversity planning requirements. New Enclosure was also pleased to work closely with the project architect and land agent to devise a site layout that utilised the site’s existing qualities to inspire the design of an attractive place to live.

An extensive programme of new tree and hedgerow planting as well as areas of wildflower meadow and a scheme of perennial and shrub planting is underpinned by a holistic approach to its ongoing maintenance that promotes the creation of habitat piles using arisings generated from maintenance with selected areas also being placed on an low input cyclical regime to allow habitat to mature. The landscape proposals were presented in the form of a landscape plan with supporting soft landscape plan and an accompanying soft landscape schedule and specification.

Pending the granting of permission, New Enclosure looks forwrad to assisting with the implementation of the development.
